backbone

Drink and Draw is a monthly drawing event in Hastings, I led an exploration of participants physicality in the vast interior of the Observer Building, including creating the piece 'backbone'. The workshop explored a number of ideas to record traces of direction and pattern.  Large scale site-specific sculptural line drawings were made by improvising, playing games and making connections.

Tape line and string clock - action drawing

Traces of direction and patterns emerge as loops and circuits are repeated. Tape-line references journey, connection, and the interlacing of repeated habitual movement -  it is a playful record of gestures built up over a period of time balancing the architectural and the organic.
