Ash line, based on the reduced elements of line, curve and movement. The ash is created from burning charcoal, used in the rest of my practise, the diameter of the brush sweep is my body height. I work flat on the floor. The brush scratches the flat paper leaving a faint history of marks beneath the ash curve suggesting an archaeology of human presence. Finally the ash is gathered into a line creating a sense of place, human intervention and a division of time.
